Danish carpenter Aksel Bender Madsen learned his trade at the Furniture School of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1940. Later he worked with the famous architects Kaare Klint and Arne Jacobsen until 1943. This beautiful chair has distinguished his work for the Danish company Bovenkamp. It has an oak frame and teak armrests that steam-fold into a curved back that marks his signature.
