Semi Pendant lamp

This pendant lamp is the result of a collaboration between architects Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup in 1967. It was originally produced by Fog & Mørup and is still today an emblematic piece of minimalist design in its purest essence and beauty. As a reaction to the “chaotic period” that dominated Denmark at the time, the two architects wanted to create a lamp that combined sharp, clean lines with a geometric shape. It is obtained thanks to two quarters of a circle joined together back to back. With this distinctive arched shape and the enamelled metal shade, the idea of lightness and the unique, timeless design, this elegant lamp achieved great success in the 1980s, when it became the best-selling Danish design item, gaining worldwide recognition and status as an icon.
