Tea Trolley 901 – Cod.1640

Trolley model 901 designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto in 1936 for Artek.
Made of steam-bent birch with white laminate shelves and wheels, it is an iconic and significant piece of 20th-century design.
It fully meets the criteria of “functionalism”, being comfortable, lightweight and easy to move, while at the same time unique in its aesthetic form and choice of materials.

Simple, elegant, functional and full of character, it is one of the “symbols” of 20th-century design.

Architect A. Aalto, in addition to applying his continuous search for organic form inspired by nature, draws on the Japanese culture of the tea ceremony.
